ANDREW STORY

VILLA RIDGE, Ill. -- Andrew Arthur Story, 83, of Villa Ridge died Friday, July 14, 2000, at Illinois Veterans Home in Anna.

He was born March 4, 1917, at Thebes, Ill., son of Sam and Meadie Holman Story. He and Ethel Ida Martin were married March 15, 1941.

Story retired as a welder and maintenance worker with Marble Head Lime Co. in Thornton, Ill. He attended Sandusky Assembly of God Church.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Findly Story of Crete, Ill.; six daughters, Barbara and Rhonda Story of Villa Ridge, Linda Dennis of Steger, Ill., Janis Garcia of Carlsbad, N.M., Shelly Stanton of Ullin, Ill., Debbie Wenglaaz of Wheatfield, Ind.; two sisters, Virtus Cox of Thebes, Opal Henderson of Edwardsville, Ill.; a brother, Ralph Story of Locust Grove, Ark.; 23 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Clark Short officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Thebes, with military rites conducted by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 of Anna.
