TAMMS, Ill. -- Andrew Paul Hornberger, 74, of Tamms Route 1, died at 7:05 a.m. Monday, April 27, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born at Miller City June 11, 1917, son of George Peter and Eva A. Stricklen Hornberger.
He retired from the Illinois Department of Public Aid as a quality control agent. He also had worked with the Illinois secretary of state's office.
Hornberger was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of the VFW Post at Cairo and was a past post commander.
He was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors are a friend, Noie Fitzpatrick; brothers, Roy and Bill Hornberger, both of Cairo; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms with the Rev. Jerry Fortenberry officiating. Burial will be in National Cemetery at Mound City.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Wednesday and until the service.
