JACKSON, Mo. -- Funeral for Andrew J. McClard of Jackson will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. The Revs. John Rhodes and Daniel Hale will officiate. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery at Pocahontas, Mo.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.

McClard, 96, died Monday, Aug. 28, 2000, at Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born March 22, 1904, son of John and Nola Craft McClard. He and Lillie D. "Sis" Bishop were married Jan. 25, 1928. She died Nov. 12, 1988.

McClard farmed in the Leeman and New Bethel areas many years, worked at the rock quarry in Neelys Landing, worked in road and building construction, and after retiring and moving to Jackson he mowed lawns.

He was a longtime member of New Bethel Baptist Church and formerly sang in the choir.

Survivors include two sons, David McClard of Osceola, Mo., Randy McClard of Jackson; two daughters, Joan Oberbeck Farrow and Judy Wilkinson of Jackson; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; six step-great grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
