BENTON, Mo. -- Andrew Michael Dirnberger, 70, of Benton died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 13, 1947, in Cape Girardeau to Claude William and Hattie Rebecca Brock Dirnberger. He and Janet Sue Bollinger married June 25, 1966.
He was a restaurant owner and executive chef.
Andrew was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg, Missouri, the Missouri State Restaurant Association Board and the Men's Sodality of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Dirnberger; a daughter, Susan Dirnberger (Marke Yarnall) of St. Louis; a son, Rick (Nicki) Dirnberger of Benton; a brother, Glen Dirnberger of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Lois Spalding, Janet Vetter and Vera (Alan) Hennemann of Benton; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard "Dick" and David "Coop" Dirnberger.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Michael Casteel as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery in New Hamburg with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
