Amy Louise Ward, 76, of Jackson passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020, at Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born July 29, 1943, in St. Louis, daughter of Emil and Betty Rayfield Beckmann. She and Thomas Ward were united in marriage June 13, 1964.
Amy was a nurse for Saint Francis Medical Center for more than 42 years. She was instrumental in creating the diabetic education program at Saint Francis Medical Center. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Ward; sons, Vance Ward of O'Fallon, Illinois, and Aaron (Sherry) Ward of Oak Grove, Missouri; daughter, Elizabeth (Elliott) Sterling of St. Louis; sister, Linda Carver of St. Louis; and grandchildren, Nathan Ward, Carter, Lindzey and Laila Sterling, Matthew and Lukas Ward, Sarah Rivera, Samantha Calvert and Shelby Scadorf.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Centenary United Methodist Church, 300 N. Ellis St. in Cape Girardeau.
Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Missouri, is in charge of arrangements.
