MARBLE HILL -- Amelia Elizabeth Spencer, 85, of Marble Hill died Saturday, March 8, 1997, at Bond Nursing Home.
She was born Feb. 25, 1912, in Essex, daughter of Elmer and Lorene Hux Peal. She was a graduate of Caruthersville High School, Central Methodist College and received her master's degree from Southeast Missouri State University.
She married W.A. Spencer who died in death in 1964. She was a homemaker and English teacher.
She is survived by a son, the Rev. Willard Spencer of Ellisville; two sisters, Virginia Woratzeck of Clayton and Ruth Peal Harrell of Memphis, Tenn.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel. Funeral services will be 11 today at the chapel, with the Rev. Robert Mordt officiating. Burial will be in Cape Girardeau County Memorial Park.
