Amanda Jane Lorberg, 95, of Jackson, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at Monticello House in Jackson.
She was born Jan. 2, 1918, at Vanduser, Mo., to James Henry and Ruth Helen Alfultis Joyce. She and Carlton J. "Blink" Lorberg were married April 17, 1938, in Jacksonville, Fla. He died Nov. 7, 1986.
Amanda graduated from Central High School. She was co-owner and operator of the former Lorberg Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.
She is survived by two sons, Joseph F. and James E. Lorberg of Jackson; a brother, W. Thomas Joyce of Memphis, Tenn.; a sister, Mary Schwab of Cape Girardeau; and a sister-in-law, Jean Joyce of Fruitland.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, James Henry Jr. and Robert; and three sisters, Helen Marie, Esther and Erna Fae.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Nathan Burgell officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.
