FRUITLAND -- Funeral for Amanda G. Anderson of Fruitland will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. The Rev. David Johnson will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 3-7 p.m. today.

Anderson, 98, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 7, 1900, at Altenburg, daughter of Martin and Maria Bellmann Winter. She and Lowry H. Anderson were married June 11, 1936. He died Feb. 14, 1970.

Anderson was postmistress at Fruitland Post Office from 1933 until retiring in 1965. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Pocahontas. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church at Jackson, was active in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, and was a past president of St. Paul Ladies Aid. She was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Pocahontas.

Survivors include four nephews and five nieces.

She was preceded in death by a son, four brothers and five sisters.
