JACKSON -- Alvin Glenn Starzinger, 81, of Jackson died Sunday, Oct. 25, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Oct. 2, 1917, at Egypt Mills, son of Fred and Alma Steinhoff Starzinger. He and Inez Hutson were married Sept. 5, 1942, in Perryville.
Starzinger was in the farm equipment business 43 years. He had served as manager and stockholder of an International Harvester business in California, Mo., before moving to Jackson in 1955.
He was employed 36 years at Jackson Implement Co., where he had been corporate secretary, assistant manager, board member, and retired in 1991 as an accountant. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and its Men's Club, Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158, Travelers Protective Association, International Lutheran Laymen's League, member and past president of Jackson Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Diana Starzinger of Houston, Texas; a brother, Donald Starzinger of Jackson; two sisters, Marjorie Wills of Jackson, and Geraldine Kassel of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today. An American Legion service will be held at 7.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Church, with the Rev. Robert Henrichs officiating. Burial will be in Old City Cemetery.
