Alvin L. Davie, 94, of Jackson died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 15, 1923, in Cape Girardeau County to Charlie Lloyd and Elizabeth Augusta Schuette Davie. He and Margaret Cook were married Oct. 18, 1946, at Cape Girardeau. She preceded him in death Feb. 23, 2007.
He served in the Army during World War II in the Philippines with 27th Infantry.
He was a mechanic for Bunny Bread in Cape Girardeau from 1966 to 1986. He then worked with his son, Larry, as an electrician.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3838.
Survivors include five sons, Larry G. (Angela) Davie of Cape Girardeau, Kenneth A. (Deborah) Davie of Chaffee, Missouri, Stephen M. (Jeannie) Davie of Cape Girardeau, John R. (Patricia) Davie of Cape Girardeau and Robert L. (Kimberly Jane) Davie of Fruitland; a daughter, Judith A. (Don) Mika of Kansas City, Kansas; two sisters, Betty Dellenger of Jackson and June Hunt of Valdosta, Georgia; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, two sisters and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will follow at noon, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau with full military honors.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
