PUXICO, Mo. -- Alvie L. Ellison, 57, of Puxico passed away Saturday, March 31, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 28, 1949, at Kennett, Mo., son of Alva and Mary Harrison Ellison. He and Joanne Kennedy were married April 2, 1970, at Frisbee, Mo.
Ellison was employed by Edgewater Glass Co. 17 years.
He served with the military police in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War in 1969.
Survivors include a son, Joseph Ellison of Advance, Mo.; a daughter, Jennifer Ellison of Advance; two brothers, Elvis West of Conway, Ark., Lanuel Ellison of Warsaw, Mo.; two sisters, Mary Hughes of Mountain Home, Ark., Alvina Powell of New London, Mo.; and fiancee, Susan McReynolds of Puxico.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a sister and a nephew.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.
The funeral will be at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Eric Shrum officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, Mo.
