She was born on May 1, 1926, in Cape Girardeau County, daughter of Walter H. and Della E. Moore Schuette. She and Rudolph G. Koerber were married on April 17, 1952, in Cape Girardeau County...

Alverta W. Koerber, 79, of Jackson died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born on May 1, 1926, in Cape Girardeau County, daughter of Walter H. and Della E. Moore Schuette. She and Rudolph G. Koerber were married on April 17, 1952, in Cape Girardeau County.

Koerber was a graduate of College High School. She and her husband farmed in Cape Girardeau County. She was previously employed at the Lutheran Home and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Gordonville, the Ladies Aid, Oak Grove Homemaker Club and a 4-H leader in Cape Girardeau County.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Marsha K. Benney of Saint Peters, Mo.; four sons, Paul 'Herb' Koerber of Gordonville, Richard A. Koerber of Jackson, Edward L. Koerber of Marble Hill and Mark A. Koerber of Gordonville; a brother, Walter J.C. Schuette of Arnold, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church in Gordonville. Burial will follow at Hanover Lutheran Church Cemetery.
