CHAFFEE -- Alvena Gertrude Pfefferkorn, 85, of Chaffee, died Tuesday, June 1, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. She was born Feb. 6, 1908, at Chaffee, daughter of Michael Henry and Gertrude Blocker Witt. Pfefferkorn worked 30 years at Thorngate Ltd., formerly Buckstein Pants Factory. CHAFFEE -- Alvena Gertrude Pfefferkorn, 85, of Chaffee, died Tuesday, June 1, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Feb. 6, 1908, at Chaffee, daughter of Michael Henry and Gertrude Blocker Witt.

Pfefferkorn worked 30 years at Thorngate Ltd., formerly Buckstein Pants Factory. She retired in 1972 as a final examiner. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Paul Pfefferkorn of Chaffee; two sisters, Iola and Velda Witt of Chaffee; four grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. The Rev. Gerald Collier will officiate, with burial in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Thursday.
