CAIRO, Ill. -- Althea "Snookie" Willis, 78, of Miller City, Ill., died Saturday, June 17, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born in Miller City on Oct. 13, 1916, the daughter of Americus and Fleecy Bowers Stevens. Both preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Community Chapel United Methodist Church in Miller City.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Willis of Miller City; a daughter, Melody Elias of Paducah, Ky.; three sons, Kenneth Willis of Miller City, Lynn Willis, of Tamms, Ill., and David Willis of Miller City; a sister, Nina Klaap, of Cairo; four brothers, including Wendell Stevens of Belleville, Ill., and C.W. "Slick" Stevens of Pauls Valley, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at the Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo today after 5 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Barkett Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jesse Bellamy officiating. Burial will follow at the Spencer Heights Cemetery in Mounds, Ill.
