MOUND CITY, Ill. -- Altha Elizabeth Jones, 80, of Mound City died Friday, July 17, 1998, at Beverly Health Rehab Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 1, 1917, in Pulaski, Ill., daughter of Henry E. and Lizzie Glance Modglin.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal Church in Mound City.

Her husband, Harold Delbert "Rabbit" Jones died Aug. 8, 1993.

Survivors include two daughters, Louise Calvin and Shirley Douglas, both of Mound City; two sisters, Minnie Verble of Pulaski and Edith Johnson of Olive Branch; two half brothers, Henry Modglin and George Modglin, both of Ullin; a half sister, Louise Webber of California; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

There will be no visitation. Graveside funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Green Lawn Memorial Gardens, with the family presiding. Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge is in charge of arrangements.
