Alonzo W. Rumfelt Sr., 82, of Middletown, Calif., died Friday, Aug. 2, 2002, at his home.
He was born Sept. 7, 1919, in Cape Girardeau, son of Robert and Mary McCain Rumfelt.
Rumfelt worked at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, Calif., retiring in 1963. He then worked for Harold Smith Construction in Middletown, retiring in the mid-1980s.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Rumfelt of Lakeport, Calif., Alonzo Rumfelt Jr. of Redway, Calif.; two daughters, Mary Wilson and Karen Redekar of Napa Valley, Calif.; three sisters, Hannah Cotner and Joanne Johnson of Cape Girardeau, and Hallie Pinkerton of Jackson, Mo.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Lions Club Building in Middletown.
