PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Alois V. Riney, 89, of Perryville died Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, at Perry County Nursing Home.
He was born July 27, 1918, at St. Mary, Mo., son of Variece and Lena Layton Riney. He and Gladys Brown were married May 7, 1938.
He was employed at Prince Gardner, a billfold factory. He also farmed livestock and agriculture. Riley was a Navy World War II veteran and member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sereno, Mo., and American Legion Post 133.
Survivors include his wife of Perryville; three daughters, Carol Ochs of Perryville, Kathleen Hembree of Rockford, Ill., Karen Harper of Steeleville, Ill.; a son, Glennon "Buck" Riney of Texas; a brother, Richard R. Riney of Quincy, Ill.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, a grandson, two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 6:30 a.m. to the time of service Monday at Young and Sons Chapel.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Jerome Fortenberry officiating.
Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, with military graveside service provided by American Legion Post 133.
