NEW HAMBURG, Mo. -- Alma Anna Turpin, 89, of Houston, Texas, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital in Houston.
She was born Oct. 18, 1914, at New Hamburg, daughter of Joseph and Anna Bollinger Compas. She and Richard E. Turpin were married June 5, 1944.
Turpin was a jazz pianist. She had worked at Scott County Courthouse in Benton, Mo., and at the Naval Supply Depot in Oakland, Calif.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Alicia Forshage of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Naomi Lauck of Chaffee, Mo., Edith Schott of Detroit, Mich.; and a granddaughter.
Graveside service was held Nov. 4 at Mission Burial Park South in San Antonio.
