EAST PRAIRIE -- Alma Marie Johnson, 86, of East Prairie died Friday, Sept. 18, 1998, at her home.

She was born Oct. 14, 1911, at Fryrs, Ark., daughter of Charlie and Teeya Dyer.

She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist denomination. She lived in Mississippi County most of her life.

She married Luther Johnson on Nov. 21, 1931. He died on Sept. 11, 1978.

Survivors include five sons, Jerry, Larry, Wayne and Jimmy Johnson, all of East Prairie, and Ricky Johnson of Peoria, Ill.; three daughters, Mary Bard of Murrells-Inlet, S.C., Shirley Brown of Charleston and Carolyn Scott of East Prairie; two sisters, Lillian Baylock of Little Rock, Ark., and Lovell Lane of Charleston; 37 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sons, a daughter, brother and sister.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.

Funeral will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral chapel.

Brother George White will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
