EAST PRAIRIE -- Alma F. "Sister" Gilliam, 76, of East Prairie died Thursday, June 1, 2000, at East Prairie Nursing Center.
She was born in New Madrid County, daughter of Warner and Katie Florence Chapman Wilson. She and Clarence "Ted" Gilliam were married in 1945 at Charleston. He died Jan. 31, 1984.
Gilliam lived in Mississippi County most of her life.
Survivors include a son, Teddy Gilliam of East Prairie; two daughters, Peggy Merryman and Joyce Jackson of East Prairie; a stepson, James Gilliam; two brothers, Clyde Wilson of Paris, Tenn., Tommy Wilson of St. Louis; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; and several great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a stepson.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with Raymond Linley officiating. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
