Alma Frey, 101, of Scott City died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, at Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 3, 1917, in Crooked Creek, Missouri, to Clarence Arick and Ozark Jane Yount Miller. She married Stanford Theodore Frey on June 3, 1938, in Sikeston, Missouri. He preceded her in death March 24, 2009.
She was a head cook at Notre Dame High School for 13 years and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City.
She is survived by three sons, Charlie Frey and Michael (Susan) Frey of Scott City and David Frey of Bedford, Texas; a daughter, Carolyn (Robert Dean) Matthews of Heber Springs, Arkansas; a daughter-in-law, Ann Frey of Cape Girardeau; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Larry Frey.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. A parish prayer service will be at 7 p.m. today.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, with the Rev. Michael Casteel as celebrant. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Morley, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the St. Joseph Catholic School.
