JACKSON -- Allois G. Philipps, 93, Jackson Route 3, died Monday, May 13, 1991, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 1, 1897, near Jackson, son of Julius G. and Sophia Geldmacher Philipps. He and the former Lulah Petzoldt were married June 19, 1926. She died July 6, 1959.
Philipps was a flight mechanic with Heath Aero Co. and Curtis Wright Aircraft Co. of Chicago. He also farmed 70 years , and was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two sons, Julius and Melbert Philipps of Jackson; two daughters, El Odean (Ellie) Knight of Scott City, Melba Philipps of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at McCombs Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Lawrence Eatherton will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
