CAIRO, Ill. -- Alice Woodard, 90, of Cairo died Saturday, June 8, 1996, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
She was born March 1, 1906, at Cairo, daughter of George and Alice Howard Waldschmidt. She and Ernest Woodard were married. He died in 1978.
Woodard worked as an assistant manager of the Sears store in Cairo before retiring. She was a member of the Church of the Redeemer Episcopal Church and the White Shrine in Cairo.
Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Wood of Cairo; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of the Redeemer. The Rev. Arnold R. Hoffman will officiate, with burial in the American Legion Cemetery in Dongola, Ill.
