Alice Laree Smithey Skiles, 75, of Fairview Heights, Illinois, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, at Four Fountains Nursing Home while surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Sept. 12, 1940, in Cape Girardeau.
Alice enjoyed playing the piano and accordion, singing and dancing, but her most precious moments were those spent with her children and grandchildren, especially being "downhome" with her parents. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving are her children, Stephen (Deanna) Skiles, Lana (Tony) Rusterberg and Karen Hooker; two stepdaughters, Marilyn (Buddy) Hollis and Kami (Darrell) Welch; grandchildren, Dustin (Laura) Gross, Brittany (Derek Zinck) Gross, Seth Skiles and Corey Skiles; stepgrandchildren, Ryan Rusterberg, Jessica Rusterberg and Emily Rusterberg; one great-grandchild, Greyson Zinck; one great-stepgrandchild, Carter Johnson; one brother, Robert (Gayla) Smithey; three sisters, Carolyn (Edward) Matlock, Nancy Smithey and Donna Smithey; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Stanley and Rose Laree Randol Smithey; and one sister, Sharon Turner.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lake View Funeral Home in Fairview Heights, Illinois.
The funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel. Entombment will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights.
