CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Alice Beatrice Mims, 68, of Charleston died Sunday, July 15, 2001, at her home. She was born Dec. 22, 1932, in Indianola, Miss., daughter of Chatman and Queen Elizabeth Richards Mims. Mims had lived in Charleston since 1943, and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church...

CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Alice Beatrice Mims, 68, of Charleston died Sunday, July 15, 2001, at her home.

She was born Dec. 22, 1932, in Indianola, Miss., daughter of Chatman and Queen Elizabeth Richards Mims.

Mims had lived in Charleston since 1943, and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Survivors include six daughters, Geraldine Howard and Emma Mims of Carbondale, Ill., Sandra Williams, Cynthia Mims, Charlotte Davis and Katrina Mims of Charleston; two brothers, Walter Mims of Charleston, Nathaniel Mims of Chicago; four sisters, Luberta Farmer and Lacella Glasco of Carbondale, Mavis Dearing of Phoenix, Ariz., Annie French of Gary, Ind.; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, a son, and four brothers.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mercy Seat Baptist Church. The Rev. Lavern Frazier will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church Saturday from noon until service time.

Sparks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
