Alice Hansen

Alice Marie Hansen, 75, of Jackson died Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at her home.

She was born April 4, 1940, in Warsaw, Illinois, to Benjamin Wesley and Gladys Gladwell Schafer. She and Robert Joseph Hansen were married Sept. 3, 1960, in Iowa. He passed away Aug. 15, 2007.

She was a charter member of Berean Baptist Church in the Jackson area.

Alice loved her children and grandchildren very much and was a friend to all who knew her.

Survivors include a daughter, Julie Foltz of Jackson; a son, Robert (Sheila) Hansen of Jackson; three brothers, Jim Schafer of Iowa, Dale Schafer of Hannibal, Missouri, and Frank Schafer of New York; six grandchildren, Caleb James Foltz, Michael Joseph Foltz, Lloyd Davenport, Taylor Reeves, Nik Hansen and Jessica Sagers; and four great-grandchildren, Eden Reeves, Jaela Douglas, Zaydan Douglas and Kai Burton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Aaron Daniel Davenport; four brothers; and five sisters.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Funeral Home-Jackson.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jerry Canady officiating. Interment will be private at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be given to Berean Baptist Church or The Humane Society of Southeast Missouri.
