SIKESTON, Mo., -- Alice A. George, 77, of Sikeston, formerly of Bertrand, Mo., died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, at the Clearview Nursing Center.
Born Sept. 8, 1924, in Hot Springs, Ark., to Clark Braden and Corya Broyles Spiller. She lived on Route 1 in Bertrand most of her life and was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church.
On Aug. 15, 1947, she was married to Martin Wesley George. He died Aug. 4, 1974.
Survivors include a son, Martin W. George Jr., of Sikeston; four daughters, Shirley Pullen and Belinda Houseman of Sikeston, Regina Kay Bollerud of Bertrand, Christina Faye Arnold of Benton, Mo.; a brother, Roy Spiller of St. Louis, 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, a granddaughter, a brother and a sister preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, Mo., where the funeral will be performed at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Charleston.
