Alice Lee Dye, 70, of Van Buren, Mo., departed this life Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Feb. 19, 1941, in Deering, Mo., daughter of the late Benjamin Beckum and Gladys Ann Grisham Dye.
Ms. Dye had resided in Van Buren since moving from Cape Girardeau in 1996. She was an educator in the Cape Girardeau School District many years, and was a member of the United Methodist Church. Alice enjoyed playing bridge, traveling and reading.
Survivors include a sister, Florence Morrow of St. Johns, Mo., and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Rebecca Dye, Dorothy Rayfield, Margie White and Betty Lind.
The funeral was Monday at McSpadden Funeral Home in Van Buren, with the Rev. Garry Reagan officiating. A committal service followed at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
