SIKESTON -- Alice W. Dawes, 81, of Sikeston died Friday at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born May 30, 1915, in Billings to the late Thomas A. and Bertie May Smith Sifferman.

She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Sikeston. She was a housewife and had worked for many years at the Farmer's Home Administration in Sikeston.

She married George Q. Dawes on Nov. 15, 1941, in Kansas City. He died April 11, 1994.

She is survived by two sisters, Ruby Baker and Grace Taylor, both of Springfield.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Nunnelee Chapel, with the Rev. Jerry Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
