ANNA, Ill. -- Alice Cox, 93, of Anna died Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, at Heartland Health Care in Avon, Ind.
She was born Aug. 12, 1910, in Flinthill, Mo., daughter of John and Emma Fritz Grothe. She and Henry Cox were married Dec. 12, 1931. He died May 4, 1974.
Cox worked at Rector's Department Store in Anna. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Anna; Union County Republican Women and had served as a Republican precinct committee chairwoman; charter member of the Women of the Moose; a member of Jonesboro Rebekah Lodge 516; Royal Neighbors; Jonesboro Home Extension and a Sunshine Inn participant.
Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Corbitt of Danville, Ind.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, her parents and three sisters.
Friends may call at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Crain Funeral Home in Anna.
Funeral will be at 3 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dee Armes offiicating. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.
