Alfredia Marie Hitt, 89, of Scott City, died Sunday, March 26, 2006, at her home in Scott City.
She was born Oct. 10, 1916, in Randles, Mo., daughter of J.R. "Jess" and Essie Hendrickson Beklund. She and Samuel J. Hitt were married on Dec. 3, 1935, in Jackson. He preceded her in death on Jan. 3, 1997.
Alfredia was a cook at the Rainbow Drive-in, Rhodes Truck Stop and Scott City school. She was a member of the Cornerstone Wesleyan Church in Scott City, Ladies Aux. VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau and past president and member of the PTA of Ancell School.
Survivors include four daughters and three sons-in-law, Essie Slinkard of Florissant, Mo., Pauline and Richard Collins, Melba and Harold Buckner and Marie and Bob Vetter, all of Scott City; two sisters, Helen Bond of Cape Girardeau and Ellamae Menz of Chaffee; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Leonard Slinkard, and one brother.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Joe Hudson and Mark Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
