KELSO, Mo. -- Alfred F. Westrich, 81, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2001, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 5, 1920, at Chaffee, Mo., son of Albert John and Estella Enderle Westrich. He and Hermina H. Bles were married June 4, 1946.

He was a retired farmer.

He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, the Knights of Columbus Council No. 6420 of Scott City and a past Grand Knight in the council. He was a fourth degree member of St. Joseph Assembly No. 2283 of Scott City.

Survivors include his wife of Kelso; three sons, Charles Westrich of Cape Girardeau, Kenneth Westrich of Scott City, Mo., and Vernon Westrich of Terre Haute, Ind.; three daughters, JoAnn Henley of Kelso, Georgia Ross of Benton, Mo., and Angela Bader of Chesterfield, Mo.; a brother, Chester Westrich of Grey Eagle, Minn.; three sisters, Marie LeGrand of Sebring, Fla., Vera Redfern of Chaffee and Alma Heisserer of Cape Girardeau; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus service will be at 7:15 p.m.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Augustine Church in Kelso, with the Rev. Oliver Clavin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
