MOUND CITY, Ill. -- Alfred J. Seals, 57, of Mound City, died Monday, Oct. 23, 1995, at his home. He was born April 18, 1938, in Elco, son of Alfred Lee and Esther Sims Seals. MOUND CITY, Ill. -- Alfred J. Seals, 57, of Mound City, died Monday, Oct. 23, 1995, at his home.

He was born April 18, 1938, in Elco, son of Alfred Lee and Esther Sims Seals. He married the former Elizabeth Walker.

Seals was a dockhand 25 years with Spector-Red Ball Co. in Chicago, and was retired from Cairo Grain Agency in Cairo. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Tamms.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Alfred Seals of Atlantic Beach, Fla., Chris Seals of Jacksonville, N.C., Michael Seals of Mounds, David Seals of Mound City; two daughters, Annette Conroy of Vienna, Colleen Seals of Springfield, Mo.; his mother, Esther Read of Tamms; two brothers, John Seals of Dongola, Robert McHarry of Tamms; three sisters, Shelby Young of Hollis, N.H., Joyce Smith of Benton, Ky., Esther Trier of Ft. Myers, Fla., and 14 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and stepfather.

Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms after 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kenneth Johnson officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery near Dongola.
