Alfred Haney, a native of Commerce, Mo., and former resident of the Bloomfield area, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at Beverly Healthcare in Cape Girardeau. He was 75.
He was born Nov. 18, 1928, the son of Smith James and Made Phipps Haney.
He was a retired farmer and rancher and veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda, of the home near Bloomfield; three sons, James Smith and Jeffery Scott Haney, both of Bloomfield, and Michael Allen Haney of Dexter, Mo.; a daughter, Deborah Kay Christian of Bloomfield; three brothers, Eugene and Joe Haney, both of Dexter, and the Rev. John Haney of Rock Bridge, Ill.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. today at the Crites-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Zion Cemetery near Bloomfield with the Rev. John Haney officiating.
