Alfred "Fred" Schlosser, 81, of Oran died April 2, 1998 at St. Francis Medical Center. He was born January 30, 1917, son of Joseph Schlosser and Katie (Schott) Schlosser. Alfred "Fred" Schlosser, 81, of Oran died April 2, 1998 at St. Francis Medical Center. He was born January 30, 1917, son of Joseph Schlosser and Katie (Schott) Schlosser. He married Ethel Heisserer on August 25, 1945.

Mr. Schlosser was a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in Oran, Mo. from July 16, 1948 to Nov. 2, 1984. He served in the Army's 94th Infantry in France during World War II receiving the Purple Heart. He was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church, Oran, Mo., St. Joseph Sodality, Oran and the 94th Infantry.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel Schlosser of Oran, Mo;, two sons, Jim Schlosser of Herington, Kan. and Tom Schlosser of Jackson, Mo.; one sister, Marie Masters of Oran, Mo;, four grandchildren, K' Tina Kuenzi of Littleton, Colo., Cody Schlosser of Jackson, Mo., Kyle Schlosser of Jackson, Mo. and Kati Schlosser of Jackson, Mo.

Five brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.

Friends may call Sunday from 4:00 p.m. at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran, Mo. Parish prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 6, 1998, at the Guardian Angel Catholic Church, Oran, Mo., with the Rev. Lewis Hejna officiating. Burial will be at the Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery in Oran. Pallbearers include: Bill Jansen, Lefty Seyer, Herman Vetter, Tom Urhahn, Jim Gosche and Jerome Diebold.
