SIKESTON, Mo. -- Alfred Merrill Burton, 63, of Sikeston died Monday, Oct. 11, 2004, at Sikeston Convalescent Center.
He was born Sept. 17, 1941, in Elaine, Ark., son of Louie and Ruby Burton. He and Barbara J. McClellan were married Aug. 6, 1963, in Sikeston.
Burton was an equipment operator, farmer and handyman. He was a member of Shady Acres Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Richard Burton of Sikeston, David Burton of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Sheila Winkler of Sikeston; a brother, Charles Burton of St. Joseph, Mo.; two sisters, Linda King of Boston, Mass., Nettie Wallace of Cape Girardeau; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from 11 a.m. to service time today.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at the chapel, with Pat Hogan and Johnny Hester officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
