Aletha Lou Brown, 93, of Jackson passed away Saturday, July 3, 2021, at Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Oct. 24, 1927, in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of George and Ella Grossheider Grant. Aletha and Donald W. Brown were married October 26, 1947, in Jackson.

She was a graduate of Jackson High School and had attended Southeast Missouri State College in Cape Girardeau. Aletha was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson, where she was a former Sunday school teacher and a member of Concordia Guild. She worked many years at Ceramo Co. in Jackson. She and Don enjoyed traveling, boating, camping, taking group trips, reading and especially time with family.

Loving survivors include her husband of 73 years, Donald W. Brown of Jackson; two children, Donald J. (Marilyn) Brown and Tina L. (Bill) Presser, both of Jackson; four grandchildren, Heather (PeeWee) Bartels of Jackson, Nathan (Brittany) Brown of Jackson, Brent (Mandie) Presser of Jackson and Mark Presser of Portland, Maine; and seven great-grandchildren, Joanie Presser, Nolan and Holden Bartels, and Joel, Lydia, A.J. and Abigail Brown.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold (Mary Lou) Grant and Joe (Edna) Grant.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joshua Schmidt officiating. Interment will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

The family suggest memorials to be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.
