Aleta Crawford Massey, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Dec. 6, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 18, 1917, near Romance, Ark., daughter of Harvey J. and Eula A. Barnett McDowell. She and Walter Crawford were married Dec. 21, 1958. He died Feb. 14, 1984. She later married Harvey Massey on Aug. 14, 1992.
Survivors include her husband and mother, both of Cape Girardeau; a son, Robert Crawford of Arlington, Va.; and a sister, Oneita McClary of Cape Girardeau.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
Massey was a retired home economist and she and her husband worked for many years with the American International Association in Brazil. She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church, the Cape Girardeau County Professional Economist Association and the League of Women Voters.
There will be a private family service at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
Friends may call at the Scopus United Methodist Church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today. Funeral services will be at 1 at the church, with Bill and Genece Felty and Jim Hartman officiating. Burial will follow in the Cook Cemetery at Scopus.
