Alene Pauline Wulfers, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born April 28, 1918, in Kelso, Mo., daughter of Emil and Dora-Welter Dohogne. She and James F. Wulfers were married April 7, 1947, at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau.
She attended Fornfelt High School, St. Mary's High School and Cape Central High School. She later attended the former Cape Business College.
She worked as a secretary at the former Central Packing Co. and at Riverside Lumber Co. From 1975-1980, she also worked at Parkview State School.
She was a loyal member of St. Vincent De Paul Parish, the Council of Catholic Women and of VFW Post 3838 Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, James Wulfers; her sons, Stephen Wulfers and his wife Sandy of Normal, Ill., and Dr. Michael Wulfers and his wife Mary of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, Samantha, Georgena, Matthew and Allison; and a great-grandchild, Cooper James.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Walter Dohogne; and a sister, Olivia Gerecke.
Friends may call today from 4:30-8 p.m., at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel. Parish prayers begin at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul parish, with the Rev. Jim Seyer officiating.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
