Alene was a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church at Tilsit, Mo., where she was baptized and confirmed. After moving to Jackson in 1953, Alene and Leonard joined St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was a past member of American Legion Auxiliary in Jackson.
