SCOTT CITY -- Alene V. Heisserer, 90 of Scott City died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2020, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born in Ancell, Missouri, on May 13, 1930, to Franklin Riley and Anna Pauline Leible Raines. She and Louis A. "Butch" Heisserer were married on Oct. 6, 1951. He preceded her in death on March 1, 2013.
Alene was a homemaker and loved tending her garden and preserving food for the winter. She loved playing cards in local tournaments and attending sports events of her children and grandchildren.
She came from a large family and is the last sibling having five brothers and two sisters who preceded her in death. She also had two infant sons precede her in death and a daughter, Mary Ann Heisserer who died in 2005 and her parents.
She is survived by a daughter, Connie S. (Glen) Payne of Scott City; six sons; Ralph (Beth) Heisserer and Tom (Lynda) Heisserer of Kelso, Missouri, Chris (Tina Robinette) Heisserer of Advance, Missouri, Dennis (Dona) Heisserer of Chaffee, Missouri, Greg (Melinda) Heisserer of Scott City, Doug (Mary Ann Buck) of Missoula, Montana; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two more expected next month.
Visitation will be at 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Monday at the church with the Rev. Michael Casteel as celebrant.
Family requests all attendees wear mask and observe social distancing.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Society in Alene's memory.
