ALBERT WICHERN

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Albert Wichern, 87, of Perryville died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

He was born Aug. 9, 1913, at Point Rest, Mo., son of Henry and Martha Cornehlson Wichern. He and Vera Hecht were married Feb. 20, 1938.

Wichern was a retired farmer. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and Men's Club at Uniontown and a former member of Civilian Conservation Corps and 4-H Club.

Survivors include three daughters, Eileen Rauh of Perryville, Bernice Scholl of St. Louis, Geraldine Hoehn of Peoria, Ill.; a son, Dennis Wichern of Jackson, Mo.; three sisters, Flora Etzold and Alma Wichern of Perryville, Amanda Lacy of St. Petersburg, Fla.; three brothers, Ruben Wichern of Perryville, Wilbert Wichern of Oak Ridge, Mo., Melvin Wichern of Mexico, Mo.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and two infant sisters.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today, and Sunday from 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Grace Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Paul Winningham officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
