Albert Roy Meatte, 64, of Saginaw, Mich., died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003, at Covenant Medical Center in Harrison, Mich.
He was born Dec. 24, 1938, at Portageville, Mo. He and Doris Hildebrandt were married June 13, 1958.
Meatte was a graduate of Portageville High School. He was in the grocery business 25 years in Saginaw, then worked for Wohlfeil Hardware, and the past 10 years worked in security at Covenant Health Care.
He was a member of Salina Lodge 155, Scottish Rite and Consistory Chapter in the Valley of Bay City, Elf Khurafeh Shriners, and Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 82.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Kimberly Meatte, Mary Kaiser and Angela Alworden; and a brother, Alfred Meatte, all of Saginaw; two sisters, Louise Brown of Jackson, Mary Stewart of Fisk, Mo.; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a half sister.
A memorial service was held Friday at Deisler Funeral Home in Saginaw. It was co-conducted by Salina Lodge 155 and the Rev. Duane Wachowiak.
