Albert D. Lunsford, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 2, 1928 in Ester, Mo., to William H. and Louise Grieshaber Lunsford. He and Marian J. Schlegel were married Jan. 13, 1951, in Cape Girardeau.
Albert served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked at AmerenUE in service maintenance and was employed with them for more than 34 years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Gordonville.
Survivors include his wife, Marian J. Lunsford of Cape Girardeau; two sons, James M. Lunsford of Jackson and Steve (Tammy) Lunsford of Zalma, Mo.; two daughters, Donna (Gary) Birk of Cape Girardeau and Diana (Tom) King of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, a brother and three sisters.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Funeral Home Mount Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with Pastor Wayne Schwiesow officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial contributions may be given to The Lutheran Home and Zion Lutheran Church in Gordonville.
