Albert Job
Albert W. "Bud" Job, 85, of Cape Girardeau, died Thursday, July 31, 2008, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 7, 1923, in Cape Girardeau, son of Arthur and Ella Louise Schwab Job. He and Edna Ida Heisserer were married June 26, 1948, at St. Augustine Church in Kelso, Mo.
Job served in the Merchant Marine.
He farmed all his life. He was a crop farmer and raised registered Angus cattle.
Job was a member of the Cape County Pork Producers, the American Angus Association and the Missouri Angus Association. He served on the SEMO District Fair Board for many years and was an honorary member at the time of his death. He was a past member of the MFA Board and University of Missouri Extension Board.
In addition, he was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 1111.
Survivors include his wife, Edna I. Job of Cape Girardeau; four sons, Albert W. Job Jr., Joseph A. Job, John D. Job and Thomas A. Job, all of Cape Girardeau; six daughters, Marilyn J. (Allen) Schott of Jackson, Nancy M. (Ronald L.) Davis of Marble Hill, Mo., Susan K. (Mark) Holzum of Jackson, Carolyn A. (John) Ryan of Cape Girardeau, Mary E. Job of Cape Girardeau and Linda L. (Terry) Schmitt of Paducah, Ky.; a sister, Virginia (Elwood) Conley of Cape Girardeau; 10 grandchildren, Shannon M. (Damian) Erzfeld, Lindsey R. Davis, Amy E. Ryan, Christian A. Ryan, Casey L. Holzum, Brandi S. Holzum, Kelsea N. Job, Abby R. Job, Brittany N. Job and Erica R. Job; two step-grandchildren, Angie Williams and Donnie Shaw; three great-grandchildren, Benjamin C. Davie, Kambri R. Erzfeld and Gavin L. Brown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Ella Louise Schwab Job; two brothers, Paul M. and Clarence A. Job; two sisters, Edna Schabbing and Emma Louise Schlosser.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. with a Knights of Columbus rosary immediately following.
Funeral Mass will be at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. David Hulshof officiating.
Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church or the SEMO District Fair Scholarship Fund.
