Albert E. Stevens, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, June 20, 1995, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 15, 1912, at Davenport, Iowa, the son of William D. and Ellen M. Thurlow Stevens. He married Pauline Stevens on June 16, 1990, in Cape Girardeau. She survives.
He retired in 1983 and moved to Cape Girardeau. He was a member of First General Baptist Church.
He also won seven gold metals in the Senior Olympics.
Survivors are two sons, Larry Stevens of Muskego, Wis., and Denny Stevens of White Bear Lake, Minn.; three daughters, Frances Kight and Doris Young, both of Cape Girardeau, and Jo Ann Tweedy of Imperial; a brother, William Stevens of Milwaukee; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.
Funeral service will be at the chapel at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. David Griesemer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
