CAIRO, Ill. -- Funeral for Albert Duty of Cairo will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo. Dr. Larry L. Potts will officiate. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge, Ill.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. today. Masonic rites will be held at 7.
Duty, 85, died Monday, June 11, 2001, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Marion, Ill.
He was born Feb. 12, 1916, in Cairo, son of Albert and Loutresia Coleman Duty.
Duty was a member of Cairo VFW and American Legion, member and past master of Cairo Masonic Lodge 237 AF&AM.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include friends, Barbara Sneed and family of Cairo.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
