Alan G. Ruesler, 53, of Friedheim passed away Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Oct. 22, 1959, in Cape Girardeau, son of Marvin "Shorty" and Viola Pohlman Ruesler. He and Sally Broeker were married May 8, 1982.
Alan was a 1978 graduate of Oak Ridge High School. He was employed by Buchheit's for more than 30 years, and was currently sales manager at the lumber counter in Jackson. He was a 4-H volunteer, and a former member of Oak Ridge Jaycees. He enjoyed hunting, camping, attending fairs and working with cattle. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim.
Loving survivors include his wife, Sally of 30 years; a son, Quentin Ruesler of Kaufman, Texas; a daughter, Cheyenne (Randy) Lufcy of Perryville, Mo.; his mother, Viola Ruesler of Friedheim; two brothers, Darryl Ruesler of Friedheim and David (Becky) Ruesler of Old Appleton, Mo.; a sister, Karen (Gene) Sachse of Oak Ridge; and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, and from 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Roger Steinbrueck officiating. Interment will be in Trinity Church Cemetery at Friedheim.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Ruesler family.
