CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Alan Dale Avery, 41, of Chaffee died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 5, 1959, in St. Louis, son of Calvin and Verla May Robertson Avery. He and Jo Ellen Kelly were married Jan. 24, 1992, at Benton, Mo.
Avery was a timber grader at Botkin Lumber Co. in Cape Girardeau. He attended the General Baptist Church in Chaffee.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Ray Kelly of Chaffee; a daughter, Alana Avery of Berryville, Va.; a stepson, Larry Calhoun Jr. of Chaffee; a stepdaughter, Brittany Calhoun of Chaffee; his father of Harleyville, S.C.; four brothers, Dennis Avery of Suffolk, Va., Gaylon Avery of Charleston, S.C., George Avery of Pineland, Texas, Glenn Avery of Chaffee; two sisters, Teena Haglund of Summerville, S.C., and Linda Kimbrell of North Charleston, S.C.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City, Mo., after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with Rennie Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Memorial Cemetery.
