A.L. Murph Jr., 87, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 11, 1928, in Marshall, Texas, to A.L. and Franke Lee Sharp Murph Sr. He and Billie Potts were married Sept. 12, 1950, at Texarkana, Arkansas.
A.L. served in the Army during the Korean War.
He went to work for R.B. Potashnick Co. in 1955 and then to D.L. Harrison that same year. He retired from D.L. Harrison's Delta Cos. as shop foreman in 1994.
He was a member of Maple United Methodist Church and the Scottish Rite, and was a 32nd-degree Mason.
Survivors include a son, Don (Karen) Murph of The Colony, Texas; brothers, Denver R. (Betty Jo) Murph of Marshall and Marvin (Edwinna) Murph of Longview, Texas; grandchildren, Jessica (Tim) Huseby and Erin (Justin) Kropp; and a great-grandchild, Sophie Kropp.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Frances; and sister, Lilly Mae Telano.
Friends may call from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum, with the Rev. Bryan Schaefer officiating.
